ATD-Austin was founded in 1986 when Danny Bills bought the Highland Lakes Telephone Directory from Associated Telephone Directories, Inc. of Corpus Christi. In 1987, ATD-Austin acquired the Austin East Metro Telephone Directory. Later in 1993, the Golden Gulf Coast Directory was purchased. The South Texas Crossroads was added in 1998. Some years later in 2004, the Mid-Cities Regional Directory was also acquired. Lastly, in 2006, the company grew their business even more, when they bought the Austin Westside Directory.

In 2007, ATD-Austin expanded to print and online directories with its www.theredphonebook.com and www.atd-austin.com websites.

ATD-Austin is the major independent publisher of yellow pages and Internet Yellow Pages in 27 counties in rural South & Central Texas.

Today, ATD-Austin publishes these five market areas and delivers 500,000 directories, serving over a million and a half consumers throughout the Greater Central and South Texas areas. These directories offer comprehensive business advertising and residential information, criss-cross phone number references, restaurant menus, complete community pages and more.

Owner, Danny Bills, is a member of the board of directors of ADP, The Association of Directory Publishers, which is the major trade association for telephone directory publishers in North American. He has over 35 years of yellow page directory and print advertising experience.

Current management includes Michael Doran; Director of Sales, John Bills and Randy Haid, whom are both Regional Sales Managers.
